7-16-08 Banff, AB

A chill day.

Well I’ll spare you the details of my gastrointestinal maladies experienced for the first half of today. I will just suggest not eating Mexican style salmon. Spent much of the day re-hydrating and doing laundry. Started feeling better as day went on. Found campsite…again pricey…$27 a night…no self check-in…we’re assigned a spot.

We checked out the town, walked around, bought some t-shirts and gifts. We struck a conversation with a woman who works at a t-shirt shop about everyone’s accent. Honestly, you might think you were in Australia…and come to find out many Australians move to Canada because of apparent simplicities in getting work visas.

Grabbed lunch at Coyotes grill in Banff. Had computer at bar, reviewing pics and post material when older man stops by and says ‘thanks for the slideshow’. A nice man.

Checked out the hoodoos….some funky rock formation near town. Went to the Elk and Oarsman for food and beers…more Australians. Decided to survey the town, it’s a small world Australia, for some beers. Stumbled upon what were some scary Boston-like Irish pubs. Mike asked the cute bartender Sammy if she ever rode a kangaroo bare-back. Mike started to tell his glacier park Hoeback storty while sanding on the bar and recreating the scene.
